Preparing Your Yard For A New Fence Installation

August 30, 2026 admin 1 min read

A little preparation before install day goes a long way — it keeps the crew working efficiently and helps avoid delays once the trucks arrive.

Clear The Fence Line

Move patio furniture, potted plants, garden decor, and anything else within a few feet of where the new fence will go. This gives the crew room to dig and maneuver materials safely.

Mark Sprinkler Lines And Buried Utilities

We call in a utility locate before digging, but if you have a sprinkler system or low-voltage lighting you installed yourself, marking those lines ahead of time helps avoid accidental damage.

Secure Pets

With gates open and tools around the yard during installation, it’s safest to keep pets indoors or at a neighbor’s for the day.

Confirm Access

Let us know about locked gates, shared driveways, or anything else that could limit access to the work area — sorting this out ahead of time keeps the schedule on track.
